Swimming Lessons

Here at Astley we feel that learning to swim is one of the most important skills a child can have. We therefore dedicate a significant investment in helping children who attend Astley achieve this before they move onto High School.

All classes access 10 weeks of swimming lessons each year. These lessons are delivered by qualified swimming teachers who are either employed staff from Astley school or from our venue provider which is currently Perdiswell Leisure Centre.

We travel by coach to the school and each child receives 30 minutes of high-quality swimming tuition each week, for 10 weeks within a term.

Children who need further support to achieve the DFE criteria may access further sessions.

Parents are asked to contribute towards the cost of coach hire and we send out a letter ahead of the Term, giving lesson dates and associated travel costs.
