Catch Up funding

The Government provided every school with extra funding in the academic year 2020 to 2021 to meet the needs of pupils following the two school closures. Schools are required to allocate the money based on the needs of their individual school. The Education Endowment Foundation has provided a support guide for schools to help them consider the evidence-based approaches that would be most effective.

At Astley School we have a range of whole school and targeted support in place as follows:

Whole school support

Ensure all pupils attend regularly and punctually.

Meet the emotional and social needs of children and adults in school.

Ensure a broad, balanced and effective curriculum.

Re-establish the assessment cycle to monitor progress and attainment.

Identify children where additional support is needed.

Make plans for continued learning during future school closures.
