Online Safety

At Astley CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils are able to use technology safely, responsibly and confidently.

As part of our curriculum and safeguarding approach, children are taught how to stay safe online, understand risks and know what to do if something makes them feel uncomfortable.

We work closely with families to support children in developing positive online behaviours both in school and at home.

How We Teach Online Safety

Online safety is taught across the curriculum, particularly through computing and PSHE.

Children learn about:

  • Staying safe when using the internet
  • Protecting personal information
  • Respecting others online
  • Recognising and responding to risks
  • Knowing how to report concerns

We encourage all pupils to speak to a trusted adult if they are worried about anything they see or experience online.

Support for Parents

We recognise that technology is an important part of children’s lives, and we aim to support parents in helping children use it safely.

If you have any concerns about online safety, please contact the school.
